How importing your results works, exactly what IPU One stores about you, and the terms for using the app.

Last updated 20 August 2026

What IPU One is

IPU One is an independent, student-built companion app for Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the university. Its core feature is importing your results from the official GGSIPU result portal on your behalf and turning them into an automatic CGPA dashboard. This page explains exactly how that works, what we do with your data, and the terms for using the app.

Importing your results

This is the part worth reading closely: it’s what the “I agree” checkbox on the import screen is asking you to consent to.

  1. You enter your enrollment number, your GGSIPU portal password, and the captcha shown on screen.
  2. Our server uses these once, right then, to log into the official university result portal on your behalf, exactly as if you had typed them into the portal’s own website yourself. Your password and the captcha are combined into a one-way hash before they’re sent onward; neither is ever written to our database or to our logs, in raw or hashed form.
  3. Because we don’t keep your portal password, you’ll need to enter it again the next time you choose to re-import. It is never linked to your IPU One account and can’t be reused automatically.
  4. The temporary login session the university’s portal hands back is held in memory only, expires automatically within minutes, and is never written to a database or shared between servers.
  5. If the login succeeds, we read the results and profile pages the portal shows you, and save a parsed copy against your account (see What we store) so you don’t have to re-import every time you open the app.
  6. If the university’s portal is slow, down, rejects the captcha, or the login otherwise fails, we show you exactly what the portal told us. Its uptime and behavior are outside our control, since IPU One is not affiliated with GGSIPU.

What we store

Once an import succeeds, we keep a parsed copy of two things, tied to your account:

  • Your profile, as published on the result portal: your name, programme and institute, batch and admission year, gender, parents’ names, contact number, email address, and photo where the portal provides one.
  • Your academic record, semester by semester: SGPA, exam session and declared date for each semester, and for every subject: paper code, name, internal/external/total marks, credits, grade and grade point, plus flags like reappeared or grace-marks-applied where they apply.

Your CGPA, percentage and backlog count are not stored as separate numbers. They’re calculated fresh from the record above every time you open the dashboard, so they’re always consistent with what’s stored.

Your account

Signing in to IPU One (with Google or an emailed one-time code) is entirely separate from your GGSIPU portal credentials: it only ever identifies your IPU One account, and is never used to attempt a portal login on its own.

Documents & notices

If your institute has enabled document collection, scans you submit (like a bonafide or NOC request) go only to your own institute’s Student Cell, kept as files you and that Student Cell can retrieve, never bundled into a shared, browsable database.

Notices are matched to you using the same profile fields listed above (programme, institute, batch, admission year) so you only see announcements relevant to you.

Who can see your data

  • You, always, through your own account.
  • Your institute’s Student Cell administrators, but only for the institute you belong to, and only for the parts of your data relevant to their administrative work, such as documents you submit. They cannot see students from other institutes.
  • IPU One’s maintainer, only as needed to keep the service running or to help you if you reach out for support.

We do not sell your data, and IPU One runs no advertising or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Third-party services we use

  • Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that authentication; we only receive your verified email to create your account.
  • Resend: delivers the one-time login code to your email if you sign in that way.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers push notifications for new notices, if enabled. You can turn these off in the app or your device settings at any time.

None of these services ever see your GGSIPU portal password or your results.

Retention & deletion

We keep your account and imported results for as long as your account exists, so the app keeps working across sessions without you re-importing constantly. Documents submitted to your Student Cell are retained for as long as needed for that administrative purpose.

Want your account and data deleted? Email ayush@ipuone.in from the address linked to your account and we’ll remove it.

Terms of use

IPU One is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

  • Use IPU One for your own academic record, for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Don’t use it to access, import, or attempt to import another student’s results without their permission, and don’t try to automate imports at scale.
  • Results shown mirror what the university portal publishes at the time you import. If anything here ever disagrees with the university’s own portal or transcript, theirs is authoritative, not ours.
  • The service is provided on a best-effort basis, with no warranty. Portal outages, maintenance, or changes on the university’s end can interrupt importing, and that’s outside our control.
  • We may update this page from time to time; the date at the top always reflects the latest version.
